90s steel GT mountain bikes - Steel frames, rigid forks, 26" wheels
List of steel frame, rigid fork mountain bikes made by GT between 1990 and 1999, grouped by year, with details on frames and main components for easy reference.
GT Bicycles was founded in 1979 by bike shop owner Richard Long and engineer and former drag racer Gary Turner, who had been building customized BMX frames in his garage since 1972. Named GT after Turner's initials, the company first manufactured light weight chromoly BMX bikes, but entered the mountain bike industry in 1984, with its own line of MTBs.
Their bikes are best recognized by their "triple triangle" frame design, characterised by the top tube extending rearward past the seat tube, and the seat stays parallel to the downtube and attached to the top tube forward of the seat tube.

Butted
A tube having different wall thicknesses along its length, while its diameter remains constant.
Chromoly (CrMo)
Low alloy steel with a medium carbon content, that gets its name from the primary alloying elements, chromium and molybendium. It has an excellent strength to weight ratio and is considerably stronger, harder more durable than mild carbon steel.
Double-butted
The thickness of the tube at both ends is thicker than in the centre.
Grip Shift
